The History of Money in Politics
This timeline project was done for my information design class. It is targeted at 26-35 year old upper income women. I proposed it as an article for the magazine The Baffler. It is a fold out spread.
I illustrated the cover. I was trying to illustrate money changing hands as as lead into the subject matter. I chose a muted color pallet with lavender to go with the target audience. The illustration style is sketchy with careless color blocking which also tracks for the target audience.
This is a 4 page spread. I put the timeline along the word bribe in cursive. The challenge was laying out the texty in a orderly and interesting way while not overpowering you with text. I also changed the color of one key sentence in each event to help a reader skim. Another challenge was keeping the clear 3 levels of hierarchy.
